Last night I was watching the Olympics on msnbc and I thought something was really strange.
The commentators started talking about all of the events/matches/games what have you where the US was competing against China. They were also trying to give deep insight and draw parallels between politics and sports which personally, I find really annoying. Anyway, during all of this really cerebral and insightful speculation the little bar at the bottom of the screen said:
COMMI-CRAZY!
At first I thought this was a weird joke, but then it remained on the screen for 15 minutes.
I guess I thought we were past calling people Commis? Like, maybe that ended with the Cold War or something? What do I know.
So is this strange? Is it just me? I mean, America is obsessed with being soooo PC, but yet we can throw Commi-Crazy up on the news screen? Maybe this is OK?
I just thought this was really strange. and embarrassing.
